Stefanie is also an LGBTQ+ ally and can work with LGBTQ+ issues. She works with individuals (15+), and residents of Colorado, Indiana, New Mexico, and Virginia can schedule with her.
The approaches that Stefanie draws from include interpersonal therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, hypnotherapy (for motivation, increased focus, relaxation and stress reduction), Internal Family Systems (IFS; "parts work") and polyvagal theory. She prides herself on utilizing techniques based upon the individual needs of the client rather than only following one approach. Her clinical experiences include private practice, working with veterans, and community mental health care.
One book that informs Stefanie's treatment approach, and that she recommends to clients frequently, is The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel Van der Kolk. She says, "This is a book that makes the body mind connection click for many of my clients, and helped me in my personal work."
When asked about her approach to therapy, Stefanie says, "My goal is to empower individuals in achieving their fullest potential by providing a safe and inclusive environment where they can feel heard and understood, and where they can work towards personal growth, self-awareness, and healing.
"I believe in the importance of treating the whole person in a holistic approach to healing. Whether talking about anxiety to depression to specific life stressors to complex trauma, I'm here to walk alongside individuals as they identify their paths forward in an enriching and centered life."
Stefanie was raised in Vevay, Indiana, a small town in the southern part of the state with views of the Ohio River and the Ohio River Valley. In school she gravitated towards art and eventually ended up in solo and ensemble with band.
Currently, Stefanie enjoys doing just about any form of art, including painting, digital art, acrylic pour, resin art, and crochet. She still enjoys music, but now she prefers to listen and take it in. Schedule with Stefanie today!
