Stefanie Rider, LPC

Stefanie Rider, LPC, is an skilled and empathic therapist who has been in the mental health care field for 17 years. She works with trauma, anxiety, depression, Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families, addiction, medical issues/chronic pain, OCD, ADHD, neurodivergence/autism spectrum, anger management, grief/loss, and Highly Sensitive People. Other specialties include cult recovery, spiritual abuse, and abusive relationship recovery.

Stefanie works with individuals (15+), and residents of Colorado, Indiana, New Mexico, and Virginia can schedule with her.​

The approaches that Stefanie draws from include interpersonal therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, guided meditation, exposure therapy with response prevention, Internal Family Systems (IFS; "parts work") and polyvagal theory. She prides herself on utilizing techniques based upon the individual needs of the client rather than only following one approach. 

One book that informs Stefanie's treatment approach, and that she recommends to clients frequently, is The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel Van der Kolk. She says, "This is a book that makes the body mind connection click for many of my clients, and helped me in my personal work."

When asked about her approach to therapy, Stefanie says, "My goal is to empower individuals in achieving their fullest potential by providing an environment where they can feel heard and understood, and where they can work towards personal growth, self-awareness, and healing.
