Based upon the unique needs of her clients, Maliha utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities. She has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy (specifically when dealing with younger children and providing psychoeducation for  parents), Motivational Interviewing Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Structural Family Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

One book that has impacted how Maliha thinks about therapy is Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself

Maliha says, "In a world where happiness comes in the form of a filter it's good to be reminded that happiness is not just a smile we share with an emoji or describe with words, it is a state of mind and something you feel in your body and soul. To achieve happiness one must prepare themselves for a journey of self discovery through experiences they have had and the ones yet to come, they must become explorers of a destination known as the self.

This journey is not easy, and it does not happen overnight. It takes time, belief, and strength that one can find within themselves and through others in their life.  It is a journey that can be full of pain, anger, doubt and despair but nevertheless the value of this  journey is priceless.

We will set realistic goals to find the path that will lead us to gain self awareness and make the changes you believe will help you thrive in this life. Your journey begins here but it will not end here.  I want to welcome you in taking the first step in your journey and I'm honored that you have allowed me to be a part of it.

My goal for my clients is to support them in discovering their path to happiness and fulfillment by exploring their past and present experiences and helping them set goals for a future that they want to create for themselves. I do this through conversation, psychoeducation, and skill building, I provide the tools and you create the foundation to a healthier present and future."

Born in Pakistan, Maliha grew up in Connecticut and recently relocated to Maryland. Her hobbies include traveling, experiencing new cultures, spending time in good company, learning from new experiences and meeting new people. She says, "I enjoy spending time with my family watching my kids turn into amazing little human beings. I love to dance to loud (good) music and drive fast cars. :)"  Schedule with Maliha today!
