Meredith Futernick, LPC, is an empathic and highly skilled clinician with a varied, decade-long background in mental health. Clients appreciate her warm and friendly personality as well as her deep commitment to their progress. Meredith’s specialties include anxiety, OCD, depression, bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, anger management, and LGBTQ+ issues. She has extensive experience with telehealth and making clients feel comfortable in this modality. Residents of CO, FL, MD, NJ, and VA are able to work with Meredith.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT; join her DBT group here) are

among the approaches that Meredith utilizes. She also identifies as client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused. Meredith has recently been trained in brainspotting, a type of therapy that uses spots in a person's visual field to help them process trauma. It accesses trauma trapped in the subcortical brain, and allows clients to guide themselves through their own subconscious. It is similar to EMDR. Meredith also can work with residents of FL, NJ, and VA on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as a Certified Psychedelic Assisted Therapist.

With couples, Meredith uses a Gottman-based approach. She is sex-positive and has worked with clients in the polyamorous/kink/BDSM community.

A go-to book that informs Meredith’s perspective is The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide To Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz. Lastly, as a certified yoga teacher, Meredith is familiar with mindfulness and able to incorporate it into psychotherapy.

Meredith says, "Anxiety, and depression can feel debilitating, especially in times of uncertainty. Let's create a space for you to talk about your struggles and work on managing emotions. I have been collecting tools, skills, and techniques over the years and am passionate about sharing them with you. From CBT to mindfulness; and often thinking "outside of the box"... let's get you feeling better and moving forward with your life.”

Meredith also runs a Maximize Your Mental Health Self-Care Group program

A native New Yorker, Meredith lives in New Jersey with her wife and toddler son. She loves reading, the outdoors, and spending time with her family. Schedule with Meredith today!
